Azia Restaurant and Lounge is one of the busiest spots in Aruba, offering both indoor and outdoor seating in a prime location. From the outside it looks like a typical Asian restaurant, but step inside and you’re greeted with ornate Asian décor and a lively, nightclub-like atmosphere.
The menu blends Asian flavors with a Caribbean flair, featuring dim sum, sushi, soups, seafood, meat dishes, and traditional Asian favorites, all paired with specialty cocktails and international wines. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and tasted exceptionally fresh, though portion sizes lean on the smaller side. Because of the restaurant’s popularity, service can occasionally feel a bit spotty.
We enjoyed:
- Poku Bao Buns – pork belly, crispy onions, pickled cabbage, cilantro, spicy hoisin sauce, sesame seeds.
- Riceless Roll Shifudo – bluefin tuna, cucumber, kanikama, cured salmon, nori, avocado, soy sauce, shichi-mi togarashi spices, green onion, eel sauce, topped with wakame salad and served with ponzu.
- Korean Ribs – grilled ribs with sticky soy sauce, sesame seeds, and leeks.
- Szechuan Beef – tenderloin with sautéed vegetables in a garlic-pepper sauce.
- Azia Rice Noodles – rice noodles with eggs, Chinese cabbage, shrimp paste, ginger, bean sprouts, and peanuts.
We ended the night with an excellent Espresso Martini. The food is so consistently good that we make it a point to return every year.
