Elm, located in the heart of New Canaan, is a modern and stylish restaurant offering a menu built around seasonal preparations and locally inspired flavors. The atmosphere is contemporary and inviting, with warm lighting and a clean, elegant design that complements the dining experience. The restaurant features a well-curated wine list and a selection of classic cocktails, making it a great spot for both casual nights out and special occasions.

We started our evening with cocktails — a Hugo Spritz, Aperol Spritz, and a Dirty Martini — all well-balanced and nicely presented. The menu offers a good assortment of dishes, with appetizers that are ideal for sharing. We enjoyed the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with avocado, ponzu, crispy shallots, and taro chips — fresh, vibrant, and full of texture. The Cheddar Brioche Rolls with cultured butter and bourbon maple syrup were soft, flavorful, and indulgent. The Clams Casino, served with bacon and jalapeño, brought a smoky, spicy kick, while the Duck Bao À L’orange with sesame and cilantro offered a creative and savory twist on a classic preparation.

For our main course, the Spaghetti with spicy lobster crema, stracciatella, and basil stood out — rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully plated. To finish the evening, the Expresso Martini, the Carrot Layered Cake with candied orange provided a sweet and satisfying finale.

Service was fairly minimal but prompt and accommodating. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made thoughtful recommendations. When we mentioned that we didn’t enjoy the Spiced Chicken and Duck Liver Mousse, he graciously removed it from the bill — a considerate gesture that reflected the restaurant’s commitment to guest satisfaction.

Elm was fairly busy during our visit, yet the experience remained smooth and enjoyable. Overall, it’s a sophisticated dining destination in New Canaan offering excellent food, attentive service, and a polished, modern ambiance.
