Karakter Beach Lounge Restaurant came highly recommended for its stunning waterfront location and relaxed beachside atmosphere, and we have to agree — the setting is absolutely beautiful. The views of the ocean and the laid-back vibe make it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.

Unfortunately, while the ambiance impressed us, the food, drinks, and service did not live up to the reputation. We started with the Bruschetta of the Sea — one topped with tuna tartare and mango, the other with smoked salmon and cucumber salsa — both visually appealing but lacking in flavor. The Duo of Wahoo Kingfish featured a nut-crusted wahoo tataki served with couscous, pickled local baby cucumber, and watermelon, alongside a wahoo ceviche taco with onion, chili pepper, banana di ref, and kumquat confit. While creative in presentation, the dishes fell short in taste and execution.

The drinks were poorly made, and the service was extremely slow. Our waitress spoke little English, which made communication difficult, and she rarely checked on our table. Due to the delays, we only ordered appetizers before leaving.

Overall, Karakter offers an incredible location and view, but the overall dining experience — from food quality to service — was disappointing. Sadly, despite its popularity, a return visit is not warranted.
